Freedom and Censorship
There are two different positions concerning Internet control:
a) The Internet is a world wide network that should not be regulated or censored by any one country
b) Control over Internet publications that contain illegal material (e.g. child pornography and copyright
issues) and legal but
harmful material (pornography, racism).

The Blue Ribbon Campaign
On June 1998 Electronic Frontier Foundation has Re-launched Blue Ribbon Campaign to Combat Censorship
of the Internet in
opposition to new congressional attempts to impose censorship controls on the Internet. The original
campaign, launched in
conjunction with the related "Turn the Web Black" anti-censorship protest in 1995, raised
awareness of and opposition to the
Communications Decency Act (CDA), which was eventually ruled unconstitutional by a unanimous Supreme
Court decision.
