"missions' distribution list

This mailing list for the Permanent Missions in Geneva has been established by the ITU at the suggestion of the ECOSOC Ad Hoc Open Ended Working Group on Informatics, and is administered in close consultation with the ISUG (Information Systems Users Group for the Geneva Diplomatic Community). The mailing list includes all those Permanent Missions in Geneva with official (as opposed to personal) e-mail addresses on ITU's TIES service. The mailing list will allow each Permanent Mission with an internet access, to send information through e-mail to all the other Missions who are in the list. The list is restricted (only Permanent Missions in Geneva are allowed to be part of the list, without exception). Missions which are not presently on the list are invited to join, by requesting TIES accounts for mission.countryname@ties.itu.int. The list is not intended to replace the present methods of disseminating documents and information, but it is rather a means to improve communications between the International Organizations and the Permanent Missions and among those Missions making use of e-mail.
